May 2019 | NWFC NEXT UPDATE: Opportunities for new achievement levels for fencing in the Pacific Northwest!

Grant Opportunity

Thanks to the efforts of many volunteers and staff, the Washington County Visitors Association (WVCA) awarded NWFC a capital grant opportunity up to $100,000. WCVA Tourism Development Grants are awarded to non-profits attracting visitors to the community and contributing to the local economy. The total project budget is $165,000-$175,000 which means our job now is to raise the balance.

Fundraising Need

Our goal is to raise $75,000 in order to commence Phase Two this summer! We hope you can help NWFC in this exciting time of growth and opportunity.

Give - Pledge - Connect

  • Donate any amount. Pledge any amount.
  • Connect us to corporate sponsorship or in-kind donations.
  • Connect us to NWFC alumni and the larger fencing community so we can invite their support.

Your support today will move us closer to completion and usher in the next generation of fencing in the Pacific Northwest.
Thank you for joining us in the exciting opportunity.

NWFC NEXT is our phased expansion plan to grow the next generation of fencers from the Portland-metro area, the Pacific Northwest, the country, and around the globe. NWFC has four plus decades of rich history featuring quality instruction, camps, classes, lessons, tournaments and competition success. We have expanded our footprint to almost 22,000 square feet of space to build on the past allowing us to host larger tournaments for all three weapons.

Phase One Completed - In the summer of 2018 by combining our original space with the vacant space next door and adding two new pods.

Phase Two Goal - To complete before December 2019. Highlights are three finished fencing pods totaling 21 strips (12 full-size competition), exterior signage over new entrance, complete floor to ceiling wall between NWFC and the pub, open space for spectators and multi-use area and refurbishment of the two additional restrooms.
